18 Scene
A guilty verdict was handed down today in the trial of the "Toronto 18", Canada's homegrown plotting extremists. They were actually from the suburbs, so it's more like the Greater Toronto Area 18, or the GTA 18 (which sounds too badass).
Here's the Natty Post version of the story. It might be old hat to everyone, but I was living out of the country when this went down, so it's still a bit of a gobsmacker. Anyway, their sending him to Canada's Guantanamo aka this place
Here's a non-caucasian man covering Bryan Adamses 18 Till I Die
From extremism to XTREME!
My cousin Bubble who is eighteen and lives in Toronto (you see what I did) has started a blog with her best friend Alexa this is now a daily read. They're soooooo cute. Smokey-Ville

Take Your Time
Here's a film by Gavin McInnes. Enjoy the laughs. Take the lesson.
When I went to Wikipedia to learn how ot spell "McInnes" correctly, I learned the following things: VBS is affiliated with Viacom, and Gavin once played in a band called "Anal Chinook" which is a super sharp name for a band, punk or otherwise.
Since leaving Vice, Gavin's started a film company and is involved in a web site that is the finest use of webspace since the internet invented waterslides and then waterslides invented unprotected intercourse.
STREET BONERS AND TV CARNAGE
This is "Street Boner 335"
"This is around that time the next day when you realize you guys cheated death and not only are you not tired from drinking all night, you’re not even that wasted."
"Street Boner 212"
"Yes, I agree they’re pretty but you know they’re both more high maintenance than a one-hitter."
Here's a semi-fashiony one for the girls and bizzles and homies
"Street Boner 172"
Imagine all the shitheads out there who see this as “a dork with a hot chick” instead of “a mensch with some TV reporter chick dressed like Chevrolet’s idea of a hipster”?
"Street Boner 209"
"Finally, your little brain and your big brain are willing to agree on something."
You get the jist. There's many more, but if I stay up all night looking at these I might never get up and get dressed or hit on a girl again (the afformentioned are what I put on a job application when they ask for "weaknessess")

Nothing Illegal
Hey gang, the Grilling It mainframe, exploded (literally I saw smoke), enjoy this stuff as I talk to the man about fixing it and getting Mp3's back in this space.
The songs are backed up, and some of the literary gems...but if it's unfixable...

R0E 0K0 (used to be mine)
BIZ One called in to the headquarters last night, and offered a friendly reminder that 90210 has been revived and that is a part of the 90's bump that I forgot.
One time, at a Beck concert, Beck walked over to the star of this next clip and the following exchange took place.
Beck: What's your zip code?
Dancing Guy: 9-0-2-1...2!
Later, after the acoustic section, this happenned:

GO! 90!
Timely:
"appropriate or adapted to the times or the occasion"
NICK CATCHDUBS AND MR DUCKER - RADIO FRIENDLY UNIT SHIFTER
My two cents (adjusted for inflation) are that this is perfect. It's well mixed, laugh out loud funny, filled with forgotten, neglected and impossible to ever neglect songs (paging Doctor Sliver). As the wave of 90's nostalgia kicks off (parties everywhere with the theme, 90210 remakes, 90's babies legally in the club), this mix is beyond essential. Yo, I'm on this 90's nostalgia, my armoire stayed an armory of cardigans and flannel.
Here's what Catchdubs (class of 99) had to say about his teenage decade mixtape genesis.
"My good friend Mr. Ducker isn’t a DJ, but he always wanted to make an ultimate ’90s tape, something that brought a mixshow vibe to alt nation sounds. When he asked me to get down with his dream and collaborate, we delved deep into our middle and high school record collections (and used CD bargain bins) and brainstormed new ways to present all the alternative music we grew up on. We were inspired by DJ Spinbad’s impossibly fun ’80s pop mixes: big hits next to unexpected favorites with lots of movie dialogue and interludes for jokes, all smashed up in a dance party megamixxx. Picking from hundreds of beloved Buzz Bin jams was easier said than done (sorry Superdrag, you’ll make Vol. 2!), but with the Mishka crew’s annual trip to Magic in Las Vegas giving us an actual deadline, we finally finished this badmotorfinger as a giveaway CD for their new season. Even with double digit-old tunes, Radio Friendly Unit Shifter feels right on time, connecting the dots between Sonic Youth breakbeats, weeded Lollapalooza rap, gloriously fuzzed-out one hit wonders and much more. No irony, no empty nostalgia, just a lot of music we love that shaped what we do today. They used to play King Missile on the radio! In America! Download and enjoy."

Easier Than Dunking
I'm as inclined as anyone who is serious about rap or comedy to skip this sort of thing, but "What's It Gonna Be" by Mike O'Connel featuring Dr. Ken absolutely murders "Lazy Sunday" or any of that generally cornballish material.
The deluge of Sinclarian influence continues.
